Why did I start The Family Album Company?

I lost my mother in December of 1999. I was only 33, my daughters were 7 and 5, and my son was only 2.5. It was when we were saying our final goodbyes in the funeral home that my father took my son’s hand in his and said, “Matt, I wish you could have known her. She was an amazing woman.” This hit me like a lightning bolt. If I did not do something, my mother’s memory would fade, and my children would not know her story. The story of an Irish immigrant who came to this country all alone at the age of 17. She met my dad, and they built a fantastic life together, raising seven successful children and 19 grandchildren. Preserving my family’s history and those of others is why I built The Family Album Company.

Memories define us as individuals and as a community. You spent countless hours recording videos, taking pictures, and creating scrapbooks. We thought video tapes would be around forever, and DVDs came along. Now those tapes are deteriorating, and computers with disc trays are becoming a thing of the past.

It is our mission to preserve and protect your memories.
